Five States in One Day!

We left Kansas City early in the morning, knowing that we had a very long drive ahead of us that day. Even though it seemed early to us, we realized that our son, Luke had already been up two and half hours by the time we drove out of town around 7:00. We were heading back to the campground in Raccoon Valley, Tennessee, where we had left our motor home parked during our month-long trip to see friends and relatives in Oklahoma.

Our trip this day included eleven hours of driving, and it took us through five different states--Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee. Most of the time we were just clicking through the miles on the interstate. But we also had city traffic as we made our way through Kansas City, Columbia, St. Louis, Louisville, and Lexington. It seemed crazy for us to drive by so many interesting places without stopping. This is not the way we are used to traveling now! But we were on a mission to get back to our home.

As we crossed the Tennessee border, we saw a faint rainbow ahead of us. We wondered if the rainbow's end was hovering over our motor home.

The highway was still wet from the rain shower that caused this tall arching rainbow that we caught up with. We are excited to be heading to our home and witnessing another of His wonders painted across the sky.

After being away for 26 days, we were glad to find the motor home in good shape. This was the first time we have left it unoccupied in a campground for such a long time. We were glad that our new-found friends and temporary next door neighbors, Laney and Loyce, offered to keep an eye on it while we were gone. With their 19 years of full-time RVing experience, we knew we left it in good hands!

It was a 17 hour drive each way from Raccoon Valley to the Oklahoma Panhandle. We have driven the car over 3,000 miles across the country and back since we left these hills of Eastern Tennessee. It was great to see so many of our friends and family, but it's also good to be back in our home. We are looking forward to wandering His wonders!
