We unhitched the car, so Denisa was driving it behind the motorhome as we made our way through the pasture. There was a bit of a traffic jam as the cows had to relocate off the road to allow this strange vehicle to pass.
After getting set up beside the little cabin, we took a walk up the hill. The mountain wildflowers are in peak bloom. You can barely see our motorhome peeking out behind the white horse trailer. What a great place to camp!
We have our own private mountain lake in our front yard, and that has been very entertaining. When you throw fish food into the lake, the fish jump and cavort to get to it as soon as it hits the water. Too bad there's no sound on this blog, or you would hear Denisa giggling with delight to watch her new pets.
Here's a couple pictures of the trout leaping out the water.
Denisa loves the wildflowers, and this was one of the most unusual. It's hard to believe that something so elegant and unique grows naturally out here.
The first afternoon here we walked down to the creek. The towering peaks of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains are silhouetted in the background of the lush pastures of the foothills.
We walked through the aspen forest close the creek, enjoying the sound of the aspen leaves quaking in the breeze.
We found two bunnies on our walk home, and this one posed for pictures. We were looking for babies because they seemed to be guarding the area.
As the setting sun was lighting up the front porch of the cabin, Denisa was enjoying one of her favorite summer deserts--watermelon. Who knew that retirement was going to be this good?
