Spending Time with some of our Favorite People

We were very tired when we landed at the Tulsa airport after our all-night flight from Alaska. Once we were back in the lower 48 states, we were greeted by Mark's brother and sister-in-law. We so appreciate their generous hospitality for us and for the motor home. They even shared with us three of their grandchildren that live nearby. We got to spend time with their son and daughter-in-law, and attended their granddaughters' recital one evening. It's great spending time with some of our favorite people!

We made a trip to Kansas City to see our oldest son's family, and took way too many pictures of our own grandchildren. Our little Eli is less than eight months old, and is already trying to crawl.

It's been less than a month since we last saw them, but they change so quickly at this age. Our three-year-old Carter is becoming a beautiful young lady.

We stayed five days, soaking in their little smiles . . .

and getting lots of snuggles.

Then we headed to Oklahoma City to see our youngest son and his wife. We arrived just in time to go to our daughter-in-law's dance performance. Claire is part of a professional dance troupe, and we so enjoyed getting to see her high energy dance team, and then her elegant aerial silks routine. It's hard to tell in the picture below, but she is very high in the air, with no safety harness. She makes it looks so graceful, but it also looks so dangerous to a nervous mother-in-law watching from below.

Her parents and our son were also there, so we got to spend time with some more of our favorite people.

We spent more time in Oklahoma City, getting to see more of our favorite people--Denisa's sisters and some of their children and grandchildren. Then we headed to Amarillo, Texas, for the wedding of our great nephew and his beautiful bride.

All of Mark's family was at the wedding, and we finally remembered to take a picture with Mark's siblings and their Mother at the wedding. That's a picture with more of our favorite people!

Then we made a trip to the panhandle of Oklahoma, to spend time with both of our mothers. One day we went to visit Denisa's aunt, and we snapped a picture of the three remaining members of the greatest generation on her side of the family--Denisa's Mother, Aunt Virginia (age 103), and Aunt Norma Ruth.

After our cool time in Alaska, we almost melted in the summer heat of Oklahoma! We saw lots of sunsets while we were in Oklahoma, but we’ll include only this unusual one. This blog hurries through a total of 14 days spending time with some of our favorite people.

After making this swing through the Midwest, we are now ready to be on the road again. But it was fun hanging out with some of our favorite people. We think they are also some of God's wonders.
